Southern Arizona Association of Health Underwriters

Have you been to a SAAHU meeting recently?  If not, you are missing out on a lot of great information.  Janet Trautwein, Executive VP & CEO of NAHU, was our speaker last month.  Janet gave us an update on PPACA, and what we can and can't expect to see regarding the chances of HCR appeal.  Janet explained how many of the items got into the bill in the first place, and why many things that seem easy to remove, most likely will be there to stay.  This month we will have Ernie Sweat from Utah come talk to us about Exchanges.  This is a meeting that can not be missed if you plan to sell health insurance come 2014!  Watch for the invites. 

Also, if you haven't heard, Arizona Association of Health Underwriters, along with the two local chapers (SAAHU and GPAHU) have hired a lobbyist by the name of Veridus.  They will be here to speak to us in March.  They are already working hard on our behalf to make sure our voices are heard!   

Last week we held a meeting for several local business associations. Members of the BBB, ASBA, NAWBO, and several Chamber's attended. This was a great opportunity for business owners to hear how PPACA will affect them in the upcoming years. Thank you to Ruthann Laswick for the great information she presented!
